Orange County In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority Orange County Employees Retirement System

A county social worker will interview you at your home to determine your child's eligibility and need for IHSS. Based on the information gathered the social worker will assess the types of services you need and the number of hours the county will authorize for each of these services. The social worker needs to document all service needs and justify service authorizations in the case narrative. In-Home Supportive Services, also known as IHSS, can help pay for services if you’re a low-income elderly, blind or disabled individual, including children, so that you can remain safely in your own home.

In-Home Supportive Services providers and recipients must either enroll in the Electronic Timesheet System or the Telephonic Timesheet System to complete, submit, and manage their IHSS timesheet and payment accounts. These secured systems allow IHSS providers to submit their IHSS timesheets and the IHSS recipients to review, reject, or approve timesheets using a computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone and/or by phone.
